Let's reconsider some of the prior examples. What are some of the fixed factors? Moving: number or width of staircases and doorways, number and size of trucks. Painting: ladders, brushes and rollers, paint cans, area to be painted. Automotive work: tools, engines to work on, space to work.

   Of course in all these casual cases the possibility exists that someone will show up with a case of beer and all work will stop, but that's not an economic problem, maybe it's not a problem at all. Let's consider the following graphical and numerical example...
