The wages for those in the pleasant occupation are much lower because many more people enter this occupation shifting the supply curve out to SP. As a result the equilibrium wage is far lower even though the skills are the same for the two jobs.

    Jobs of all sorts in resort areas usually pay less than the equivalent jobs elsewhere because many workers will take the positions simply to stay in the resort area. Professor usually earn far less than their skills would earn them in alternative employment becuase the benefits of the job are significant (even if your professor won't confirm the benefits I'm sure she'll confirm the lower pay :).
