1. The University is a monopsonist because it is the only employer of graduate students teaching assistants in the area. The University will want to continue hiring TAs as long as the MFC (Marginal Factor Cost - the cost of hiring one more) is below the MRPTA. This means it will hire TAM but will only need to pay a wage of WTA, so WTA < MRPTA
