A price discriminating firm will charge a higher price for consumers with more inelastic demand and a lower price for consumers with more elastic demands.

    This is why vacation flyers pay less to fly, their demand is more elastic than business flyers (missing a business meeting can cost large amounts of money and jobs). The same holds for people who attend matinee showings of movies presumably have more free time, lower incomes, and are less likely to be dating and so have more elastic demands. Those who don't have time to clip coupons are less price and more time sensitive - inelastic demand. Shoppers who must have cutting edge fashions when they are first available have very inelastic demands. These are all cases in which those with the more elastic demands pay lower prices and those with more inelastic demands pay higher prices.
