Consider the same graph and be sure you understand why firm output does not have to fall. If demand were more inelastic, and/or if MC were flatter, it is possible that output could have risen slightly; though this is unlikely.

   The important point is that output changes, since both MC and market price change and since the firm operates where MC = P.
