Trade policy arguments can be very complex and the issues involved very real and serious. The Pro and Con arguments we give here dealing with trade restrictions are, in each case, only one possible argument. Our purpose in offering these arguments is simply to illustrate that these are difficult issues and that good arguments, both economic and otherwise, exist for both sides. Indeed, any one issue here could easily serve as the topic of an extended debate or a well-researched paper, and there are many other arguments offered on both sides of each of these issues.

As you go through these issues, it's an excellent exercise to see if you can come up with an additional Pro and Con argument for each of these issues dealing with trade restrictions.
