Free entry and exit means that firms will enter the industry whenever
it is profitable. This will shift out industry supply and cause
price to fall until profits disappear. Whenever there are losses
in the industry firms will exit, causing supply to shift back
and prices to rise until losses disappear. Thus, profits will
be zero in long run equilibrium.
