Consider points on the PPF where no time is being wasted. (Remember, the letters have nothing to do with grades.) Which of the points A, C or E on the PPF is best?
Our student's parents probably think E is the best. (After all,
it's not their fun being given up.) Our student may prefer C or even A. As economists, we can't say which is best. That is up to the
student and depends on her tastes or preferences. What we can
do is understand the opportunity costs involved and how these costs might affect choices.
