If our consumer were originally enjoying
5 meals and 4 movies we might only need to compensate the loss of one restaurant
meal with one movie. If so, she would be indifferent between the
bundle with 5 meals and 4 movies and the bundle with 4 meals and 5 movies and both of these points would be on the same indifference curve.
Keep in mind, this is only one possibility. For some other consumer
the bundle with 5 meals and 4 movies and one with 4 meals and 6 movies might yield the same satisfaction. What if we took away even
more meals?
