As we see to the right, a decrease or reduction in supply causes
equilibrium price to rise and equilibrium quantity to fall. Changes in supply alone cause price and quantity to
change in opposite directions.
An observation of rising price and falling quantity is a clue
that supply is declining. One should look to such factors for
an explanation of the observed market changes.
