Nonlinear relationships can be somewhat more complex than the ones we've seen so far. To the right we show a positive, nonlinear relationship that starts out increasing at a decreasing rate, but at higher levels of Q it is increasing at an increasing rate.
Near the beginning and the end of the portion of the relationship shown to the right the curve is fairly steep, with a slope of 3, but toward the middle of the graph the slope becomes quite small; however, the slope does not turn negative anywhere on this graph.
